Skilled Migrant Development Program – information session

SkillMe, in partnership with OTEN TAFE NSW, will launch another employment preparation program for skilled migrants.

A fast track course to prepare qualified professionals to enter the Australian worksforce:
-       Funded by the NSW Government through Smart and Skilled

-       Free for eligible participants

-       56 hours of face to face tuition provided (in 7 weeks)
Human resources specialists and employees will provide career advice through interactive workshops

Course outline:

-       Develop a greater awareness of workplace culture and trends in the Australian labour market

-       Developing a career portfolio, resume and cover letter

-       Strategies to identify employment opportunities

-       Marketing yourself  effectively

-       Preparing for the job interview
-       Career management skills

Eligibility Criteria:

·         Refugee and CALD clients receiving Centrelink payments, excluding primary carers

·         English language, literacy and numeracy minimum proficiency at ACSF (Australian Core Skills Framework) 1

·         Centrelink or Jobactive’s approval will be requested

Pre-screening tests for potential clients will be held on information session day.

Class will run in Campsie and Belmore 4 days a week Mon-Thu, from 9 am to 2.30 pm.
Course will start on 9th April 2018
