SEE BELMORE PREPARING FOR WORK (INTENSIVE)

The course is suitable for client from both English and non-English speaking backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and Early School Leavers. Clients must be eligible for the SEE program to commence study in the course.

Outcomes:

Teaching will cover the following areas:
·         Computer literacy (word processing, emails. Internet job search and online job applications)
·         Identifying pathways to employment
·         Job seeking strategies
·         Resume and cover letter writing
·         Job interview techniques including mock interviews
·         Presentation and confidence
·         WSH unit – BSBWHS201A Contribute to Health and Safety of Others
·         Basic workplace communication

Location: Canterbury City Community Centre – 130 Railway Pde, Lakemba

Study Mode: 10 hours per week for 9 weeks (2/2/2015 – 1/4/2015) 9 am to 2.30 pm on Mondays and Wednesday

Our next English for Employment course begins Monday 10th November and is delivered over six weeks:

As per our previous courses, 2014 English for Employment courses will help students to develop job search strategies for the Australian employment market.

·        Developing a career portfolio including your résumé and cover letter
·        Strategies to identify employment opportunities
·        Preparing for the job interview

Candidates must

·         Be a permanent Australian resident
·         Have overseas qualifications
·         Be seeking work in their field of expertise
·         Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher
