Free Employment Education Webinar

The Lebanese Muslim Association is running an Employment Education online workshop in collaboration with Migrant Employment Legal Service for clients. It will be in both English and Arabic with an interpreter, and will cover important factors of the Australian workplace and legalities that newly arrived individuals must be aware of to protect themselves.

The workshop will be available to all ages and LGAs and will run on MAY 14th on  Zoom from 11am -12pm with time to ask questions.

A special program by TAFE Digital for overseas qualified people

This TAFE Statement course is fully funded by the NSW government and delivered by TAFE Digital to students who have gained skills and qualifications from overseas. The program provides them with the necessary skills and knowledge as well as internship opportunities to be able to access relevant jobs in the Australian labour market.

The program will be delivered online with weekly face to face workshops over a period of 8 weeks.

Enrolments and Orientation session will be on 28 April at 10:30 to 12 noon, at our Strathfield TAFE Digital College.

Ready4work

WAA is launching this project called Ready4work in Disability and Aged care.

 

Below is a brief outline of the program.

 

AIM

To provide a blended combination of literacy support and select skillsets from a certificate in Individual support to help unemployed people to gain employment in the high demand social and community services sector.

 

Participants will be required to meet the Federal government’s settlement engagement and transition support (SETS) eligibility- that is they must be:

 

1.    Permanent residents who have arrived in Australia under five years as

2.    Humanitarian entrants

3.    Family stream migrants with low English proficiency

4.    Dependants of skilled migrants in regional areas with low English proficiency

5.    Selected other stream under eligible visa subclasses ( list provided upon request)

 

Two session will be conducted 12-15 participants in each session, at a total of 30 migrants who meet the SETS criteria will be recruited for this project

 

The fully funded program includes:

 

  • Customised program including Language, Literacy and digital literacy training and an introduction to a careers skillset, a Cert in Individual support at TAFE.
  • 10 hours of driving lessons per person
  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
  • Police checks
  • Uniforms and shoes
  • Android tablets for training
  • Work experience and placement
  • Graduation

 

On-going support will be provided by IWAA to ensure a successful outcome for the employer and employee.

English and Computer Course on Saturdays at Lakemba

We have a new course starting up on Saturdays for people to improve their English and computer skills. Please see attached flyer for all the details. Classes are every Saturday from 9.30am – 2.30pm starting on Saturday 10th April.
