STEP INTO WORK
Step Into Work is a program specially designed for women
who want to find meaningful paid work - whether you are seeking employment for
the first time, or wish to return to the workforce
The sessions are led by Step into Work Inc. volunteers with
expertise in human resources/recruitment, coaching, planning and stress
management.
The program covers practical areas including:
• Matching values,
skills and interests to types of work
• Searching and
applying for jobs
• Preparing resumes
and cover letters/emails
• Communication
skills and interviewtechniques
It also focuses on
building life skills and confidence needed when entering or returning to paid
employment:
• Managing the family and work life balance
• Relaxation and
stress management
• Developing
personal networks and using them effectively

9:30 am and run for 2.5hours

COMMUNITY EDUCATION
OFFICER POSITIONS
Applications are
now open for the Migrant Employment Legal Service (MELS) Community Education
Officer positions.
MELS is looking
for Community Education Officers to deliver targeted and culturally appropriate
education sessions to their communities to help them understand and enforce
their work rights. Community Education Officers are paid casual positions. As
part of the role, you will participate in a paid 10-day Train the Trainer
Program in employment and anti-discrimination law and services and a final
Showcase/Graduation event.

Who should apply?
Applicants should
be active and trusted members of migrant and refugee communities (including
temporary visa holders) who are well-connected with their community. If you
help organise events or bring people to them or help members of your community
to access information and services, you are who we are looking for!
What is the time
commitment and where will the training be held?
Community
Education Officers will attend a compulsory 10-day training program from April
to June 2021. The training will be face-to-face and take place once a week
between 9.30am and 5pm at various locations across the City of Sydney and
greater Sydney.
What is the
selection criterion?
Applications are
open and will close on Friday 12 March 2021 at 5pm. Shortlisted candidates will
be contacted for an individual interview.
