STEP INTO WORK

Step Into Work is a program specially designed for women who want to find meaningful paid work - whether you are seeking employment for the first time, or wish to return to the workforce.

The sessions are led by Step into Work Inc. volunteers with expertise in human resources/recruitment, coaching, planning and stress management. The program covers practical areas including:

• Matching values, skills and interests to types of work
 • Searching and applying for jobs
 • Preparing resumes and cover letters/emails
 • Communication skills and interview techniques

It also focuses on building life skill sand confidence needed when entering or returning to paid employment:

 • Managing the family and work life balance
 • Relaxation and stress management
 • Developing personal networks and using them effectively

Details
·       5 weekly sessions in small, supportive groups
 • Sessions start at 10 am and run for 2.5 hours
 • Cost – free
 • Childcare available

Fully Government Subsidised Short Course for eligible applicants

This course is designed for people who have experienced barriers with engaging in vocational training and the greater community. The opportunity to learn an awareness and introduction to the Education Support Industry.  The training will also provide you with employability skills, including interview techniques, how to develop a Resume, and apply for employment opportunities.

COURSE OUTCOMES INCLUDING:
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to effectively participate in a vocational education learning environment, vocational education and capably participate within the community.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

Join us on Thursday 13 March 2020 at 9:30am – nine week program to 9 April 2020.

This course is the first step in a series of courses to further training in employability skills and helps you go on to further training and to get a job.

Proposed Attendance: Mondays, Tuesday from 9:00am to 2:30pm &
Wednesdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
16 hours per week for 16 weeks (one semester).

This is a full-time day course.
Course graduates will have basic underpinning employability skills that will allow them to access further study or training.

Learners are also expected to complete learning activities outside of class time.

This qualification is designed for individuals who need skills to prepare for a vocational pathway qualification or further foundation skills development.
